The Power of Fashion

To me, living your life full send means living your life with no regrets. It means living your life by not caring what others think. It means doing what makes you happy. Although, this is sometimes easier said than done, one way to live your life like this is by expressing yourself through fashion. Your clothes might be the first thing people notice notice about yourself. It's a way to express yourself. Some might even say it brings you more confidence. It's important to feel good everyday, and I strongly believe that fashion is a creative outlet that allows you to do this.

Sometimes, it’s easy to find yourself in a constant state of trying to fit in. Ever since I could remember, being the “different” kid was seen as weird. Dressing in a neon color shirt was asking for the wrong attention. Even wearing shoes that necessary weren’t in style was looked down upon. The older I became, the more I stopped caring what people thought of me. That’s where my love for fashion really began. To me, fashion is more about the brand names. It's more about buying a pair of sneakers because my favorite celebrity has them. It’s about the confidence it brings me when I put an outfit on. It's about holding my head high and feeling like the best version of myself.

The more I became fascinated with fashion and learned about different designers, the more I realized I couldn't afford any of them anytime soon. That’s where my love for thrifting came. Being able to find some of these designers at second hand stores or even similar items was a steal to me. Growing up, shopping at thrift stores would be something I would get made fun of for. Today, I wear my items with pride and even encourage others to do as well.

My favorite quote is "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment” -Ralph Waldo Emerson. It's important to remember that we don't have to follow these temporary fashion standards. Just because your favorite celebrity is wearing something doesn't mean you have to. It's important to create your own unique style, and to find what you like.

My blogs are all about how to get the most for your buck. Who said looking good means having to drop all your money? Definitely not me. By shopping at these second hand stores you’re given the opportunity to pick pieces out for a fair price. In a world where it seems like everyone is wearing name brands, it’s important to not feel like you have to as well. Especially, when there’s so many other alternatives.

When you live your life full send, you’re not worried about what others think of you. If you want to wear green shorts with a pink shirt, GO FOR IT! If that’s what makes you feel confident and happy then so be it.
