Based off your Tampa Bay Lightning boys having 62 wins (record setting) during the last years (2018-2019) regular season, you can say all if not most bolts fans have pretty high expectations for this (2019-2020) season. After being awarded the national NHL record the Lightning went into the playoffs as the team who will take home the cup, little did anybody know we’d end up choking in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs getting swept in only four games against Columbus.
Imagine being labeled as the team that appeared to be head and shoulders high above any other team in the NHL and then completely blowing it first round of the playoffs. Honestly have no words. Other than it was seriously such a bad loss the team’s media manager took immediate action online after the loss publicly apologized to fans via Twitter saying “We don’t have any words and we know you don’t want to hear them. We understand your anger, frustration, and sadness. Everything you’re feeling - we get it. This isn’t the ending we imagined, and certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there the entire way.”.. End of 2018-2019 season.
As for this years season, the home opener for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Florida Panthers was a success, winning 5-2 giving bolts fan hope for a winning recovery this season. So far being 13 games deep into the season, understand that’s not exactly the case.. Fans are becoming more frustrated than ever as the bolts are placed at 6th place in the Atlantic Division which has not not been done in many many years.

Twitter is bombarded with angered and confused fans tweeting “What is holding the Bolts back??” or “Something needs to be done, our team is seriously lacking and we know this isn’t what they’re made of.” Rumour has it many believe head coach Jon Cooper is the source of the problem. This is just a rumour but needs to be taken lightly as he has brought lots of success to the bolts giving us a total of 306 wins. Fans and hockey followers can’t help but wonder if the team’s lack of keeping up with other teams tempo until the half of the 2nd period hits is Coopers responsibility. Keep in mind the Lightning have a talent for falling behind almost the entire game and making a remarkable recovery, it’s been done and has continued to happen for years.
Is firing Cooper really the only choice left to make? The team isn’t getting any younger, and changes aren’t being made the best decision for the fate of the team may be making a drastic change whether it is firing Mr. Jon Cooper or other measures. All every Tampa Bay Lightning fan knows is the same mistake from last season cannot happen again, the team can absolutely not afford it. We need a great season and miracle. Let’s go Bolts!!
