This is it. I am at the full send of my semester. Life is getting busier than usual, my brain is get less and less rest every day. This is where my mental health needs the most attention. To be full send is to fully commit yourself to something 100 percent. Do I live life at full send? Yes and no. I give all of myself, but in different segments of my life.
My brain and heart work closely together quite constantly. If I were to give all of myself around finals week solely to finals, I would have no money added to my checking account. I would have the achievement added to my academic records, but as of now, that does not pay the bills. If I were to be full send at work, I would see a decline in my studies due to lack of attention.
At the moment in life, I’ve decided to be full send towards three goals: work, education, and mental health. I treat my physical and mental health simultaneously through medical cannabis. If I were to solely focus on treatment, maybe I wouldn’t get a lot of things done like work and education. This all calls for a full send of balance, that is what I strive for.
Balance is the most important element in life to be full send at. If you can stretch yourself out in a way that at least keeps you afloat, you cannot be full send. Perfectionism is a strategy that majority of full senders use to lessen the importance of mental health. Perfectionism is helpful, and harmful at the same time. Without balance, you will only crash in the long-ran pursuit towards being a perfect full sender. I chose to be a balanced full sender.
College has a way of beating the life out of us all. Not only students, but the professors as well. In the midst of test-taking and grading, we lose track of things that ground us to our inner peace of mind. Our thoughts get in the way of the gratitude that we should have for life in general. It is easy to place personal value in academic and career oriented goals, but that is not the primary value we hold as human beings in life. I greatly admire the professors who implement balance into their coursework and deadlines. They make it easy for students like myself with ADHD to stay motivated through stressful times.
Full send professors have that mutual understanding of what it means to have to sacrifice personal time for time that produces results. Productivity and time managements are the biggest struggles college students have when entering their first phase of independence. Having an example of someone who full sends as a professor, makes it easier for both the student and the professor to understand where each party is coming from with workload and course load. In conclusion, I’d like to thank Professor O’Leary for being a genuine full sender.
