College Fun.. Hockey Style. Who’s in?

Calling all college students who may or may not be die-hard hockey fans either way you do not want to miss this opportunity! Do you ever sit around with your friends and wonder what’s something fun but college budget affordable for us to do in Tampa? Wonder no more! The Tampa Bay Lightning have decided to extend their student rush ticket program for this coming 2019-2020 season as they want to encourage students like us to get out and enjoy some hockey!!

What’s better than some live hockey action enjoyed with your friends by your side? Exactly nothing. Executive Vice President of Sales, Jamie Spencer says “The Lightning are rapidly growing in popularity with high school and college students. The Student Rush program offers them an affordable way to support their hometown team with their closest friends.” In order to be eligible for student rush tickets you must present a valid student ID in return the tickets will cost up to $25 and are only given one ticket per student. Also keep in mind that most of the time the games sell out pretty quickly so seats are limited and all tickets are first-come, first-served! Here are some ways to apply for Student Rush tickets:

Text RUSH to 61873 and you will be sent a Student Rush code. If you follow this step it will ensure that you receive a wristband when entering the game

You want to get there early!! You have a better opportunity of getting a seat instead of becoming the over load crowd that has to stand in the designated standing areas. It’s best to arrive there probably about 30 min to an hour before puck drop.

Bring your student ID. If you don’t bring this you cannot receive a ticket to enter the arena so it is absolutely crucial!

Wear your Lightning gear! If you dress the part and show you support your local Bolts you’re most likely to be given the best seat (it’s a myth but it actually works).

If you go to school in the Tampa Bay area and haven’t been to a Bolts game yet what are you doing?? Now’s your time! It’s the best affordable but also a fun way to enjoy time with your friends outside of the dorms so why not give it a chance you may find yourself slowly transforming into a Lightning fan (the best fan to be just saying).
