Back to School Season

Going back to school is NEVER easy. I mean let’s be honest, when you’re in middle school with braces and going through puberty your life pretty much feels like its crashing down on you. Then add the pressure of the first day back to the mix…….

YEAH, no thanks.

That's why DoSomething.org, the largest organization exclusively for young people and social change, and Hollister, every middle schooler’s favorite store, have partnered to empower young people to use positivity to help combat bullying. They have Introduced their new campaign: The Cancel Bullying campaign.

Hollister will promote the campaign in all stores nationwide and select international stores through video displays all over their stores. If you're familiar with the demographics of Hollister and the age range that shops there you know that this is the perfect store to show this video at.

Middle school mean girls.......yeah were talking to you.

Bullying in schools has been in a crisis going on for who knows how long. We're not saying a video can fix it, but what we are saying is that the awareness can help, especially coming from such a popular store such as Hollister. Growing up I remember thinking how I wanted to look like the models that worked at Hollister. The skinny. Blonde, perfect figure girls. I constantly compare myself. Now that I'm older, I have no idea why I wanted to look like them so bad. Just because they were beautiful doesn't mean I wasn't. However, as easy as I say that I know it took me years to learn. My self-esteem definitely wasn't that high during my pre-teen years. I also would make my mom buy me ONLY clothes from there. I mean let's be honest the clothes aren't that cute (Shoutout to mommas what would we do without them?)

Anyways, back to my point. I am happy and impressed to see that they are rebranding to try and educate their shoppers on a topic that is so important. Bullying can come in different shapes and forms. Especially today where social media is so big. Mostly everyone you meet has been affected by it someway. It’s important to remember to be kind, for everyone you meet is battling with something you know nothing about. Educating young kids on this is so important and I honestly do think it can have a great impact on their lives. It was very smart for Dosomething to partner up with a store like Hollister. The campaign will definitely inspire kids across America to do better.
