CBD may be the quick fix for college students struggling with occasional anxiety

Mental Health sometimes get pushed a sided when caught up in a busy college schedule. It is also not everyone likes to talk about. However, having occasional anxiety is very common and affects every student at some point of their college career. Whether it is getting to class on-time, studying for an exam, executing that interview for the internship you want so bad, anxiety sneaks up on you. CBD, short for cannabidiol, has been the wellness trend that has been popping in and out of the spotlight with questions.

Scientific research remains limited, but there has been evidence of CBD users to be having their anxiety decreased. However, people who have been giving it a try as an alternative to the typical ways to relieve stress and anxiety.


“For the low-level anxiety, coping mechanisms like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, exercise, journaling or working with a therapist may help. But for some people, that’s not enough. “Of all the wellness tools in my toolbox, CBD oil has been the best addition to my life for anxiety,” said Carlene Thomas RDN, dietitian and author of the upcoming recipe book "CBD Drinks for Health."


CBD may just be hopefully the quick fix for college students who don’t have the time to fit into their schedule to cope with their anxiety.

People often compare CBD to THC. CBD is a nonphyschoactive compound which means that it doesn’t produce the “high” that is associated with THC.


“It worked immediately, effectively and effortlessly in a way that adaptogens and years of meditation hadn’t.”


There are multiple ways students can come across anxiety in their everyday life.

Social anxiety is an anxiety that students come across when talking in front of a class or even possibly talking to their crush. Sometimes there are just projected scenarios that make students anxious about.


Another scenario is test taking. Test taking anxiety is real. After studying for hours for just one exam that could make or break your grade, it is common to even blank during the test due to anxiety.


A finally issue that students have issues with in college is sleeping. It is almost near impossible to get on a sleep schedule where you will be getting enough rest every night.

CBD helps east feelings of nervousness and can help promote a clear mind when these scenarios may happen.


Between overwhelming workloads, social settings, sleep, our mental health should always be a priority. Anxiety can eventually lead to panic attacks, stress, and possibly long term effects like depression.


Using CBD’s calming properties can prevent students from spiraling. Using a little bit of CBD in any form can help students get through the day by easing their mind.

CBD may be the difference between having a good day and a bad day.
